Generally, mandarins are smaller and have a flattened appearance, and they tend to be sweeter than regular oranges. Numerous popular varieties of mandarins exist, many of which are also referred to as tangerines: Clementine, Dancy, Encore, Fremont, Honey, Kara, Kinnow, Mediterranean, Pixie, Ponkan, Satsuma, and Wilking.
